For the last 20 years Good Directions has been building a reputation as one ofthe UK's market leaders in the design, construction and installation of Exterior Clocks, Cupolas, GRP Structures and Weathervanes. Our Head Office is based in Botley, Hampshire with a Midlands Office located in Wirksworth, Derbyshire. With a strategy of continuous investment in Technology we feel we have someof the most innovative products available. With probably the largest range of GRP roof turrets in the country there is also the added option of customers designing their own unique products or having a replica or replacement of past or existing structures made using old photographs or drawings for reference. The clocks are suitable for commercial or domestic properties and can be housed in any number of the standard roof turrets, bezels, drums or pillar structures available. The clock movements are produced from brass and stainless steel with control systems available which include automatic winter / summer time change, links to the atomic time signal and battery back up in case of power failure.

In January 2006 the 1st Fair Oak Scouts approached the Parish Council as they were looking for a fitting tribute to Eric Balch, fondly known as ‘Skip’, who had been at the centre of Scouting in Fair Oak for over six decades.It was agreed that as Skip had given so much of his time to the community that a clock would be a suitable memorial.
