Cheshire Brick and Slate Company (CBS) was established in 1978 by John Malcolm Youde, a former builder who had seen the need for reclaimed building materials within the United Kingdom, today the company is run jointly by Malcolm and his son Jason, and is one of the largest stockists of reclaimed building materials in the United Kingdom today, holding over 100,000 reclaimed bricks on stock. CBS are located on the A54 (Kelsall Road) 6 miles east of Chester, on a three acres site, which also houses a 350 m2 showroom and a joinery workshop which produces all forms of bespoke joinery specialising in solid oak and pine doors.
